Installing the server components for IBM FileNet

Use the following checklist of actions to install BlueCielo ImandrA on a server computer for use with FileNet.

Note    This checklist includes steps to be performed with other applications, detailed instructions for which depend on the application version and are not included here. Refer to the application’s documentation for additional information. This checklist is intended as an outline of the activities to be performed, specific parameters to be used in the performance of those activities, and the recommended order of the activities, not as a detailed procedure.

To install the BlueCielo ImandrA server components:

  1. Create a new SQL Server database connection.
  2. Use SQL Server Enterprise Manager to create the vault database with the options described in the following table.

Enter a valid name.

Initial size (MB) (Database files)

Enter a size appropriate for FileNet requirements and the expected quantity of documents.

Initial size (MB) (Transaction log files)

Enter a size ½ of the size of the database file.

  1. Copy the file loginscript.sql from the FileNet disc to the BlueCielo ImandrA server. Follow the instructions in the file to specify the name of the database created in step 1.a as the new login account name and a password for the new account.
  2. Open SQL Server Query Analyzer, connect as the sa account to the SQL Server where you created the database in step 1.a, and load and execute the script that you modified in step 1.b.
  3. Open the ODBC Data Source Administrator and add a new System DSN with the SQL Server driver using the options described in the following table. Accept the default settings for the remaining options.

Select the SQL Server computer where you created the database in step 1.a.

Select With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and password entered by the user.

Enter sa.

Password

Enter the sa account password.

Change the default database to

Select the database that you created in step 1.a.

  1. Test the new DSN and resolve any connection errors before proceeding to the next step.
  2. Install a FileNet Contents Services library.
  3. Launch the Contents Services setup program and select Install Initial Content Services Components. Select the options described in the following table. Accept the default settings for the remaining options.

Enter the DSN name created in step 1.d.

Enter the database name created in step 1.a.

Library Name

Enter a name for the new library.

Temporary Library System Password

Enter the account password used in step 1.d

Admin Password

Enter a valid password for the Admin account.

Confirm Admin Password

Re-enter the Admin account password.

Set library system services to
auto-start every time at reboot

Enable

Automaticallly start the new library system when the install is complete

Enable

  1. When the library has finished installing, restart the computer if prompted. Installation completes.
  2. Open the Content Services Manager with the system tray icon and confirm that the library that you just installed is running. Start the library, if necessary.
  3. Install any necessary FileNet service packs and restart the computer, if necessary.
  4. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher, if it is not already installed.
  5. Install the BlueCielo ImandrA server components with the ImandrA Server Components setup program.
  6. Install the FileNet Content Services Explorer Administration Tool with the setup program included with FileNet Content Services.
  7. Run the Content Services Explorer Administration Tool and create a new user in the library that you just created named IMAdmin with the options described in the following table. Accept the default settings for the remaining options.

Select Administrators.

Note    You might need to set this after the user has been created.

Add Items

Select Yes.

  1. Create the following String registry key and set the data to dbo:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CADCompany\ImandrA Admin Tools\Desktop\DBOwner
  2. Create a new database on the SQL Server where you created the database in step 1.a with the options described in the following table.

Enter IM<DatabaseName> where <DatabaseName> is the name of the database you created in step 1.a.

Initial size (MB) (Database files)

Enter 50.

Initial size (MB) (Transaction log files)

Enter 25.

  1. Add the library as described in Installing the client components for IBM FileNet.
  2. To create the BlueCielo ImandrA custom properties, document classes, and relationships, run ImandrA Server Initializer (IMInitialize.exe) with the options described in the following table. By default, the program is located at C:\Program Files\BC-ImandrA\FileNetCS\AdminTools.

Select the type of the database that you created in step 1.

  1. Add the Domain Users group to the SQL Server Users group with the Windows User Manager for Domains.
  2. Perform the steps listed in Distributing user settings.
